frequently asked questions : : : go back

Did Bentley Publishing Group acquire Grand
Image Posters
?

No. The two companies have effectively formed
a joint venture partnership, with Grand Image
doing the creative product development, and
Bentley doing the rest. Larry Winn continues
to own Grand Image, and the Sher Family
continues to own Bentley Publishing Group.

What about the old Grand Image Posters from
McGaw and Winn Devon
?

These older posters will continue to be available
from these companies. Bentley will not carry this
product. Neither McGaw nor Winn Devon will
sell the new posters.

How many releases per year should I expect?
Will the line be large
?

There will be six releases of new product each
year, beginning April, 2004, and at least 250
new images per year will be published.

What will be the look and style of the Grand
Image Poster Collection
?

It will be what you are accustomed to seeing
from Larry Winn and Grand Image. He
continues to have full creative control.

How do I order Grand Image posters?

Contact Bentley Publishing Group directly.
You may order these new prints along with
your orders for prints and posters from Rinehart
Fine Arts, Aaron Ashley, Leslie Levy, and
Bentley House.

Can I still get in contact with Grand Image
directly
?

Of course. All the names you are familiar with
are still there - Larry Winn, Buster Baba, Lindy
Gillespie, Steven Lantz, Angela Bizzari and
Devan Poffenberger. They are happy to stay
in touch with you. But for poster orders, tracking,
customer service on poster orders, they will
connect you with the right person at Bentley.

Are the images available on the web?

Yes. Use the search the image library link or just

What about Grand Image limited editions and
originals
?

They continue to be available directly from
Grand Image in Seattle, 1.800.900.3551.x118.

I need a poster re-sized, or an exclusive image,
just for me. Who do I call
?

Call Bentley Publishing Group. They are now
the only company with the right to produce
and sell any new Grand Image publication as
a poster, exclusively, effective February 1, 2004.

Why did Grand Image Poster Collection move
to Bentley Publishing Group
?

Both firms are known, respected industry leaders
who are growing. Both parties felt their futures
were brightest if they worked together. Grand
Image is supplying its creative resources and
proficiency for creating great posters, and
Bentley is supplying its operational expertise.

How will the new Grand Image Posters be
priced? Will my Bentley Publishing Group pricing
agreements apply to the new product
?

Generally existing Bentley discounts will apply
to the new product. However, some of the new
product with special printing treatments will
have stock numbers beginning with "ST". These
items will be priced higher than Bentley's general
line, and discounts may vary. Please check with
your account manager.

I'm confused. There are a lot of company
names. What's the history here
?

Larry Winn founded Winn Devon in the 1980's.
He grew it into a dominant player, then sold it,
though he continued to run it for a while. Then
he left and started his own firm (again) called
Grand Image. Grand Image allowed Winn
Devon to publish posters of its artists for a while,
then Grand Image allowed Bruce McGaw to
publish posters of its artists from 1999 through
2003. Both Winn Devon and McGaw continue
to sell some of these posters. Larry Winn/Grand
Image does not control or own any part of Winn
Devon or Bruce McGaw. Now, with the new
partnership between Grand Image and Bentley
Publishing Group, Bentley will be the source for
all new Grand Image posters.
