As a formally trained artist, holding a bachelor’s
degree in fine Art Studio, Sherry has enjoyed
much success in many facets of the art world.
Beginning as an art teacher and gallery artist,
she has shown and placed in juried exhibitions
both regionally and nationally, as well as having
several "one- woman" shows to her credit.
Always ready to broaden her creative abilities,
Sherry’s career has given her the opportunities
to produce contracted work for manufacturers,
from fabric design, catalog illustration to
creating furniture designs.
A native South Carolinia, Sherry is at home in
the "Lowcountry" of Hilton Head Island, where
her art and design company has been formed.
Sherry Strickland Fine Art & Design, Inc. began
on the island, with requests from interior design
firms, commissioning custom artwork, for designer
homes, private clients and corporate businesses.
This venture has afforded Sherry such creative
contracts from designing one-of-a-kind wall
murals, rugs and even dinnerware, as well as
commissioned framed artwork, print editions,
magazine covers and custom built furniture
design.
Mother of three children, Sherry enjoys the
beach, football, and visiting old historic cities
with beautiful architecture and gardens. Sherry
writes, ”The Lord has blessed each of us with a
gift or special ability to pursue while we are in
this world which enables us to live happily. We
must use those gifts, develop them and share
them with others as our contribution and
thanksgiving to glorify His name. I find such joy
in what God had given me to do." With every
stroke of her brush, it is evident that Sherry enjoys
the process of creating as much as she does
sharing the final product with others.
