Harold Silverman was born in Brooklyn, New York.
After high school he attended the Fashion
Institute of Technology which led to a career in
Production, design and the manufacturing of
ladies sportswear.
It was not until 1970 that the darkroom called
and developed into a lifetime of sanity within
the pressures of the business world. Black and
White was the mainstay of his effort during this
time and created an opportunity to display
his work as it grew, including, any exhibitions
of images taken in China over a long period
of time.
In 1995 he was introduced to the “World of
Photoshop” and now through the computer,
has begun a new career of bringing to life the
wonderful images of “The World Around Us”. He
remains an active shooter as well as bring able
to tap his large image inventory to be seen and
enjoyed. Color has become an important part
of the portfolio. He also delights in the process
of sharing his images with as many people as
possible, to establish that there is in fact beauty
to be seen all around us that escapes our eyes.
As the future of the technology unfolds, the world
of photography will get better and our heirs will
be able to view the places we have
photographed long after the scenery has
regenerated into a new beauty of its own.
