Waltraud Fuchs von Schwarzbeck
was born in
Bavaria, Germany into a family of artists where
she was exposed to the fine arts from early
childhood. She received her formal art
education at the prestigious National Academy
of Art in Munich and graduated in Graphic Arts
and Lithography.
Prior to her arrival in the USA, impressionist von
Schwarzbek traveled and lived in the famous
art capitols of Europe. It was there she learned
to paint floral art that reflected the influence of
the old masters and their traditional style. Based
on her studies of old masters' techniques, she
became fluent in and performed restorations of
antique paintings of museum quality.
She was honored for her high standards of
creativity with a Certificate of Recognition by
the University of Missouri in Kansas City for her
contributions to the Graphic Arts. Von
Schwarzbeck's professional background includes
many years as Prime Art Illustrator for motion
picture companies such as United Artists,
Columbia Pictures and Warner Brothers.
"In my own imaginative style, I enjoy creating
impressionistic paintings in oil and pastel which
may include landscapes, still life paintings and
portraits."
In her commissioned portraits, she strives for the
utmost likeness of her clients in the old masters
tradition. These have included noted figures
such as John F. Kennedy and Harry S. Truman.
Her original works are represented in private
collections and art galleries in Europe, Australia
and North America.
Prints of von Schwarzbek's original works are
published exclusively by Bentley House of
Walnut Creek, California and distributed
worldwide.
