Artist Statement
The three foundational elements of my paintings
are texture, pattern and color. Each composition
is a geometric construct that progresses like a
puzzle from the first laid segment toward a
dynamically balanced whole. My intent with this
series is to create strong high contrast images
dominated by the black on light pattern and
saturated with primary color. These elements pay
tribute to the classic modernism rooted in the
Bauhaus of the 1920s.
