Judy Phipps’ Oregon home is a vista of color
and nature…Daffodil Hill Farm. Judy lives in a
part of our country where life is real, warm and
earthy. Oregon evokes images of loggers,
fishermen, animals and gardening …the latter
two themes being common motifs in Judy’s art.
After traveling and living in many parts of the
United States Judy resettled in the Oregon
area where she was born and grew up…the
Willamette Valley, a rich and verdant corner
emerging as a renowned wine center. Daffodil
Hill is where Judy wants to enjoy her art and
life until she is, as she calls it, “old and musty.”
A member of the Pastel Society of America,
Judy’s talents are most on display in her pastels
and her sculptures, giving her a wonderful feel
for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional
product execution. Her hand can range from
soft illustrations to photo-real art.
Perhaps Judy’s greatest gift is her unique story
telling. She understands how to pull in the
viewer. Her paintings each tell a tale…some
have a witty line, some have a whimsical
interplay between two characters…all will
charm you.
A featured gallery artist, Judy’s work has been
on display in galleries throughout the west,
complemented by an array of commissioned
pieces. In addition, Judy has created life-size
sculptures for use in both the corporate and
civic sectors. A recipient of numerous awards
nationwide for both her pastels and sculpture,
Judy has been recognized among many
different organizations for her creative gift.
