Hannah was born in the Midwest but spent a
large part of her childhood in Hawaii and Florida
where her father, an officer in the Navy, was
stationed. She grew to love the tropics – from
the humid warm air to the gentle breezes off the
ocean and the swaying palms.

Her teachers noticed her artistic talent by the
age of seven and her mother and father – both
artists themselves encouraged the young girl.
She often was asked to draw by other teachers
and students alike and began entering contest
in high school. After achieving a degree of
success Hannah began college where she
received a Fine Art degree. Years later – after
having getting married and having children,
Hannah earned an MFA and shortly thereafter
began exhibiting in galleries.

In later years Paulsen decided that she could no
longer stay in one place and has been spending
the last ten years of her life traveling the world
and discovering beautiful places to paint.
