Artist Anita Munman’s exceptional Arts and
Crafts imagery has won her numerous solo
exhibitions and has been featured in national
publications such as Better Homes and Gardens,
Home Country Living and Traditional Home.
Schooled in architecture and art, Munman
wrote her thesis on Japanese influences of the
American Arts and Crafts movement, and
owned a design firm specializing in these period
paintings.
An expert in the field, Munman continues her
studies by extensively researching each painting
for authenticity and style. “My ultimate goal in
creating period-inspired art is to achieve the
same high quality of craftsmanship that
characterized the Craftsman ideal,” says
Munman.
Her paintings incorporate the styles of noted
artists of the period, while recalling the pictorial
flatness, asymmetrical composition and color
subtlety of Japanese prints. Like the artists of this
movement, Munman’s imagery depicts natural
subjects such as plants, insects and landscapes.
