A native of Chicago, Dorothy Mullins moved to
Phoenix, Arizona with her family when she was
ten years old. It was there that she spent her
time exploring the state especially Northern
Arizona and Oak Creek Canyon where she
enjoyed camping and hiking.

Dorothy began painting in 1974 when she
enrolled in a decorative painting course. She
continued studying decorative art and began
teaching this style in 1978.

It is God’s beautiful creation that is Dorothy’s
greatest inspiration. “I find personal inspiration
in God’s word and the lives of people of great
faith”. Dorothy hopes to bring a sense of peace
and well being to people through her art. She
wants her art to be easy to live with and
perhaps to evoke pleasant memories. Dorothy
enjoys painting realistic art where trees look like
trees and flowers look like flowers. “I like to record
the way light effects form and color as though
you could freeze a moment in time”.

Although her family thinks that she is always
working on her art, Dorothy enjoys camping and
exploring new places; reading, concerts, movies,
and volunteering at church and Bible study.

Dorothy is the author of an instruction book,
Cherished Heirlooms, Vol. II. She lives in Texas
with her husband Karl and is the mother of two
grown daughters, Deborah and Kimberly and
is the proud grandmother of her “perfect”
grandchildren, Mason and Emily.

Dorothy Mullins is published exclusively by
Bentley House Fine Art Publisher of Walnut Creek
and distributed worldwide.
