Malarz : : : view collection

With a History of commissioned work for
corporate and private collectors, Malarz brings
a wide range of subject matter and painting
styles to the contemporary canvas. His "first love"
however, lies in the rich values of the traditional
romantic landscape and all of his works reflect
a special attention to the play of lights and
shadows across a canvas ranging from bright to
extreme darks. His floral architectures "evoke a
quietness, a sense of peacefulness, "a place you
want to walk into."

Malarz' palette and technique are reminiscent
of an "old world" blend of light, color and
composition characteristic of the classical works
of our past. He has spent many years crafting the
look, feel and presence of the early masters from
the European "Barbizon" painters to the "Hudson
River" period in this country. His canvases reflect
that quiet timelessness translated through the
modern medium of acrylic oils developed to
museum quality standards.

Malarz' current effort is the emergence of an "Old
Florida" style, calling to mind the influence of Old
Masters such as Herzog, Inness and Bierstadt.
"There is a romance in this place, its wilderness
and its past, that transcends the modern look so
characteristic of the contemporary Florida art
scene."

Self-educated in his craft, Malarz never set out
to become an artist, from the earliest of years,
from childhood drawings on wallpaper scraps...
painting has been a part of his life. Born into an
old world family environment steeped in the
work ethic, art was acceptable only as a hobby
and had to be pursued in stolen hours. With
no time or avenue to a formal art education,
his painting skills were developed through
thousands of hours of trial and error. "I was
painting for myself with no desire to show or sell
my work." His art speaks to a discipline of ages
gone by. Believing in the tradition and history of
a period, his works reflect his love for a bygone
era and its artistic legacy. Art Malarz' studio and
home is in Venice, Florida.

Malarz is published exclusively by Bentley
Publishing Group in Walnut Creek, California.
