Tarragona, in 1932. She took her first painting
and drawing classes at the Sant Jordi School of
Fine Arts, in Barcelona.
Teresa’s life and artistic career has always been
marked by eagerness and reflection, her
professional career split between the practicing
of art and teaching, the later due to family
heritage and tradition. She is a Doctor in Fine
Arts, a Full Professor of the Faculty of Fine Arts of
Barcelona and a Merit fellow of the Royal Art
Circle of Barcelona. Her long career has been
shaped by exhibits, courses, awards and
travels and her works have been discussed by
numerous critics, art historians and writers.
Themes and contents in the works of Teresa
Llacer stem from the modern figurative tradition
of european painting. They are an exercise in
freedom, where the artist re-encounters the
deep dimension of life and all things.
