Haixia Liu was born to a family of artists in 1962
in Hubei Province China. Encouraged and
instructed by his father, he began to draw at
early age. He started a life of full time artist in
New York in 1999. He lived and worked in
Vancouver Canada in 2003 and currently lives
in Maryland, U.S.A. Meanwhile along with
moving his art, he was able to go to more
places in northern America.
For seeking better ways to depict the work, his
art was gradually developed into the current
style through years of executing. Characterized
with unique color combination and oil texture
by palette knife through entire canvas, his
paintings give a stunning attraction. The
emotional impact to viewers comes from
such an effect that the objects on canvas
are strong and refreshed but still rich and
delicate.
He has won awards in competitions, such as
First Place Award of International
Competition from ArtCrowd Magazine, New
York 2002 and Award of Excellence from
Federation of Canadian Artist Juried Show
2004. His art is represented and sold through
galleries, and diverse shows in the U.S.A.
and Canada.
