Tucked away at his studio in the hills above the
Napa Valley, north of San Francisco, is where
Lowell Herrero can be found on almost any
given day. It is here that the ever-smiling Mr.
Herrero is gradually completing his transformation
from self-professed "city boy" to "gentleman
farmer."
Two years ago, Mr. Herrero settled into his new
studio that also serves as a farm. Always
delighted by rural scenery, it was a natural fit
for Mr. Herrero to paint from a setting that was
reminiscent of his paintings. In fact, Mr. Herrero
is now a happy participant in the joy and
humor of life's everyday moments that are so
often captured in his paintings.
"People often ask where I get my ideas. All kinds
of places, actually: from friends, from pictures I
see, from museum exhibits, from books. But when
you get right down to it, most of my paintings
come from what I see when I travel. And I
travel a lot!
"I do feel that I am so fortunate to practically
have two professions now both as artist and
"farmer." Both my wife and I are truly blessed.
I wish the same for you and your families!"
