Maret Hensick’s style is one that was acquired
after much travel and rich life experience.
Having been raised in Europe, she became
fluent in German and French. Her parents had
a great appreciation for art and took Maret
and her sisters to museums and exhibits
throughout Europe; this early exposure to fine
art led to her later interest in printing
techniques, particularly copper print etching.
Maret returned to the United States for her
college education, graduating from the
University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of
Fine Arts degree. After working for two years as
a commercial artist in Germany, she lived
briefly in Montana, New York City and
Michigan before settling in Minneapolis. There
she studied etching at Hamline University and
began her ongoing career as fine artist - a
career which she continues to develop
concurrently with her licensed design business.
Her marriage to her husband, Tom Paiment,
also a fine artist, brought her to Maine where
she currently resides.

Maret’s licensed products have spanned from
giftware to a wide range of stationery
products. Her designs have been licensed by
Boston Warehouse, Department 56, Papyrus,
Gina B Designs, Keller Charles, Converting,
Ronnie Sellers, Inc., and the Popcorn Factory.
While Maret has had great success with her
commercial products, fine art continues to be
her first love and her originals are owned by
many private collectors throughout New
England. She utilizes various materials and
layering to achieve the desired texture and
depth in her work. The pieces currently being
produced by Bentley Publishing reflect
Maret’s affection for line, vibrant color washes
and floral imagery.
