Joseph Harvey was born and raised in Oregon
to a family of musicians and artists. His father
was a commercial designer for many years and
left that to pursue a career in fine art. Joseph
followed in his fathers steps and left high school
early - anxious to begin his studies in art. He
studied under several different artists as well as
attending workshops of all kinds…often leaving
to go to New Mexico and as far as Italy and
Spain to get as well rounded an education as
possible. He painted the scenery that he woke
to each morning – whether it was the blue of
the Mediterranean or the golden colors of the
Southwest desert. Harvey’s landscapes draw
the viewer into the peaceful mood…the
sublime color palette and a dreamlike quality.
Joseph Harvey paints full time and is in
collections all over the world including Italy,
Spain, Japan and the UK. He maintains a
studio in the Northwest.
