Artist Karen Hillard Good’s creations are as warm
and whimsical as her own personality. Known to
her friends as Queenie, Karen’s wonderful sense
of humor, poetic sensibility, and true free-spirit
shine through in every painting. Whether
creating memorable holiday characters or
painting richly textured vignettes, Karen’s use of
patterns and clever sayings throughout her work
gives her a unique look and feel.
Karen’s inspiration comes from her family and
friends…as Karen says they are the heart and
soul of her work. Her use of good cheer, sage
advice, and quick wit within her paintings
grows from the large circle of warmth and
support that surrounds her. Karen designs
products with them in mind – whether creating
journals that she gives to friends or designing
dinnerware that she would use with her family.
As a longtime designer for The Lang Companies,
Karen’s work is recognizable from countless
calendars, notecards and journals. As a
contributing designer to Lang’s August Moon
division, Karen’s work has been used to
decorate three-dimensional designs including
ornaments, figurines and tin wall hangings.
Karen’s versatility as an artist and designer
coupled with her distinctive style make her an
