Gordon Brown : : : view collection

The paintings of artist Gordon Brown evoke the
awesome power of the West. From the time he
was a small child, weekends were filled with
backpacking, searching for arrowheads, and
sketching. Having developed his innate sense
of color and perspective at an early age, Brown
was encouraged by teachers, artists and family
to pursue painting professionally.

It is the pristine beauty of his paintings that first
captures viewers, that holds them as they gaze
at the cathedral-like formations and winding
stretches of river seen from high above some
canyon rim, just at the edge between rock and
space. As Gordon puts it, "My goal as an artist is
to document the natural beauty of the western
landscape”.
