Louis
Cantillo is best known for his colorful
landscape photography and his collection of
windows and doors of the Southwest. Louis finds
his own way of looking at the familiar, through
careful composition and the use of color, texture
and contrast. He’s combed the El Presidio and
barrio Historico District of Tucson in search of
homes with character...homes that beckon the
viewer inside and tease the imagination.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Louis became
interested in photography at an early age. He
studied in Houston, Texas to fine-tune his skills in
composition, lighting, printing, matting and
framing. An Arizona resident since 1991, Louis was
drawn to the Southwest by its rugged diversity
and many challenges for the serious
photographer.
Louis finds photography to be a spiritual
experience and expression of how he views the
world. He delights in hearing reactions from his
customers and notes that there is a universal
bond among us through appreciation of color,
beauty and the diversity of God1s creation.
